Group Programs Details

1. School Readiness/Back to School Groups

Grades 1–3 

This group focuses on foundational school skills through play-based and structured activities. Participants will practice following group instructions, raising their hand to speak, taking turns, and staying seated during tasks. Early academic concepts (e.g., letters, numbers, basic problem-solving) are introduced in a supportive setting, alongside key self-regulation and social interaction skills.

Goals may include:

  • Following classroom routines
  • Listening to the teacher and peers
  • Participating in group activities
  • Waiting, sharing, and turn-taking
  • Managing transitions with support

Age:  Going into Grades 1-3

Location:  Mississauga

Dates: August 18th to August 29th

Times:  9 to 12pm daily M-F

Ratio:  1 to 4

Cost: $2,025

Grades 4–8 

This group focuses on building independence and executive functioning to prepare for back to school. This group helps students strengthen their classroom readiness and social problem-solving skills. Activities will focus on organization, time management, transitioning from work to play, and from play to work, emotional regulation, and appropriate peer interaction in academic and social settings. Students will engage in age-appropriate scenarios to practice developing these skills, working in groups, and navigating school expectations.

Goals may include:

  • Following multi-step instructions
  • Asking for help appropriately
  • Managing frustration or changes in plans
  • Working collaboratively with peers

Age:  Going into Grades 4-8

Location:  Mississauga

Dates: August 18th to August 29th

Times:  1 to 4pm daily M-F

Ratio:  1 to 4

2. Social thinking & Zones of Regulation

This group will help with identifying different emotions children feel over the day. Participants will learn about strategies for different levels of emotions, rating those emotions and skills to calm themselves when they feel those emotions. Facilitated by therapists with supervision from our Registered Behaviour Analyst, children will learn about:

  • Recognizing Emotions
  • What their body feels like and looks like when experiencing different emotions.
  • Tools to manage emotions
  • Self-Calming Techniques
  • Understanding others’ emotions and perspectives
  • Flexible thinking

Ages: 5-7 years old

Location:  Mississauga

Dates: September 18 — December 18

Times:  4:30pm—6:30pm

Ratio:  1 to 4

3. Early social skills – Children’s Friendship Training

Children’s Friendship training is a social skills intervention in which participants will learn and practice foundational social skills, through a variety of engaging and fun activities. Facilitated by therapists (1:4 ratio) with supervision from our senior clinicians who are Registered Behaviour Analysts (Ontario).

Children will learn about:

  • Conversation skills
  • Being a good sport
  • Qualities of a good friend
  • Dealing with teasing
  • Problem solving social situations

Ages: 8-12 years old

4. Early Social Skills – Teens

5. Cooking group

This 16-week group will focus on cooking and baking skills. Each week participants will learn a variety of meals by preparing a grocery list, visiting the grocery store to purchase ingredients, and cooking a meal together.

Ages: 12-18 years old

6. Employment skills

For youth and young adults ages 15-seeking to learn more about employment readiness skills. Facilitated by therapists (1:4 ratio) with supervision from our senior clinicians who are Registered Behaviour Analysts (Ontario).

Ages: 15-18 years old

Location: Mississauga Centre

Dates:  September 17th  to December 17th

Times:  Wednesday 4:30 – 6:30

Ratio:  1 to 3
