Group Programs Details

Four groups are running for the January–March term.

1.Cooking Skills for Independence

A hands-on, practical program that teaches real independence. Each week, learners plan, shop, and prepare a simple meal together. They practice sequencing, time management, budgeting, and teamwork — all through fun, confidence-building cooking activities.

Your teen will:

  • Learn step-by-step meal preparation
  • Build executive functioning and organization
  • Practice grocery shopping and budgeting
  • Strengthen communication and teamwork
  • Increase independence and self-confidence

Age:  12-18

Location:  Mississauga

Dates: Jan 6 – Mar 24

Day and Times:  Tuesday 4:30–6:00 PM

Ratio:  1:4

2. Social Thinking & Zones of Regulation

A playful, engaging group that helps young children understand big feelings and develop calm-down tools that actually work. Using Social Thinking® and the Zones of Regulation, children learn to name emotions, notice body signals, and practice strategies to regulate in real time.

Your child will:

  • Improve emotional awareness
  • Learn flexible thinking & problem-solving
  • Practice calming strategies
  • Understand peers’ emotions
  • Build early social confidence

3. Early Social Skills – Children’s Friendship Training

An interactive social-skills program where kids learn how to connect with peers, build friendships, and feel more confident in group settings.

Your child will:

  • Learn how to start & maintain conversations
  • Practice turn-taking, cooperation, and sportsmanship
  • Build confidence in social situations
  • Learn how to handle teasing or disagreements
  • Strengthen problem-solving skills

4. Employment Skills for Teens

A practical, confidence-building program designed to prepare teens for real-world employment. Participants learn job-ready skills using role-play, behavioural rehearsal, and guided practice under the supervision of RBAs.

Your teen will:

  • Practice interview skills
  • Learn time management & workplace routines
  • Build professional communication
  • Understand employer expectations
  • Strengthen confidence, responsibility & independence

5. LifeLink

A practical, confidence-building program that teaches teens the everyday life skills they need for greater independence at home, at school, and in the community. Using structured lessons, role-play, and guided practice, participants build communication, self-advocacy, and executive functioning in a supportive, therapist-led environment.

Your teen will:

  • Learn personal hygiene routines and healthy daily habits
  • Build communication skills (social and electronic)
  • Practice self-advocacy and asking for help
  • Strengthen planning, organization, and executive skills
  • Develop confidence in real-world situations

Location:  Brampton and Meadowvale Mississauga

Day: Thursday 430-6pm

Start:  January 8th

Finish: March 26th

Ages: 12–18

Duration: 1.5 hours/week

Cost: $1,440
