Helena aspires to help children and families through providing supportive, holistic, and client-centred care. She is determined to help children build their independence with day-to-day activities to ensure they can have the best quality of life! Outside of work, Helena enjoys exploring nature and listening to music.
Helena is a Registered Occupational Therapist and Registered Early Childhood Educator. She graduated from University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy as well as obtaining an Honors Bachelor of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education from University of Guelph-Humber. Helena has worked in many childcare and healthcare environments while implementing her knowledge of occupational therapy and child developmental theories and frameworks to provide the best possible care. She utilizes standardized and non-standardized assessments as well as play-based approaches to develop appropriate treatment and interventions targeting various challenges with sensory processing, fine motor, gross motor, self-regulation, executive functioning, visual perception, feeding concerns, and/or difficulty engaging in daily tasks. Helena has vast experience collaborating within interdisciplinary teams to ensure each child’s care is approached from an ethical and holistic perspective. Helena is very passionate about supporting children and families to feel confident, happy, and independent!
